Dan C. Matta, PLA
Founding Principal - Professional Landscape Architect
Dan C. Matta is an experienced Landscape Architect with extensive project management and complex land use design experience, involving multidisciplinary professionals and designers throughout the western states. Over 30 years of experience focused in land planning, landscape architecture, site design, and environmental analysis of large and small projects. Successfully executed projects coordinating land owners, landscape architects, engineers, architects, geologists, traffic engineers, surveyors, market analysts, realtors, contractors, attorneys, and government agencies. Experience with stakeholder and local government concerns through extensive service on planning commissions, steering committees, and advisory committees.
Dan earned a B.S. in Landscape Architecture from Washington State University, 1981, and has worked in Landscape Architectural offices in Seattle, Washington; Pullman, Washington; Portland, Oregon; Newport Beach, California; and Salt Lake City, Utah. Not only was it a great professional experience for him to work in all these different offices, but all these locations have broadened his knowledge and understanding of the various natural and man-made environments, recreational resources, and how we enjoy and interact with our natural and built environment.
On a personal note, Dan grew up on seven acres near a small logging town in the great Northwest and played for hours on end in a barn just like this one, in a mountain setting just like this. In this small mountain community is where Dan acquired his love and respect for the natural environment and where the flame was lit for his love for the design disciplines.
